Tripp Lite is an American manufacturer of power protection and connectivity products. The company is best known for its surge protectors, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS systems), power distribution units (PDUs), power strips, and related electrical protection equipment.
Founded in Chicago, Illinois, Tripp Lite became one of the most recognizable brands in the computer, networking, and office equipment markets. During the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, Tripp Lite surge protectors and UPS systems were commonly sold through computer dealers, office supply retailers, mail-order catalogs, and electronics distributors.
Many Tripp Lite surge protectors incorporated telephone, network, and coaxial protection in addition to AC power surge suppression.
