Teardown
Disassembly began in 2026 following retirement from service. Opening the enclosure required removal of six enclosure screws securing the upper and lower housing halves.
Interior examination revealed a straightforward construction consisting of full-length brass outlet contact strips, a resettable circuit breaker / power switch assembly, three-conductor wiring, molded outlet supports, and an integrated strain-relief system.
Unlike a surge protector, no surge suppression components, printed circuit boards, MOVs, filtering components, telephone protection circuitry, or coaxial protection circuitry were observed.
