Mounting Provisions

The documented example exhibits substantial dirt accumulation, a flickering illuminated rocker switch, a discolored attachment plug, and significant heat damage surrounding one outlet near the end opposite the power-cord entry.

The damaged outlet contains transferred lettering from a previously connected attachment plug. The cause of the heating event is unknown; however, the damage is consistent with prolonged heating at the plug-to-receptacle interface.

The most severe damage is concentrated around the neutral blade opening of the affected receptacle. This suggests that heating may have originated at the plug-to-receptacle interface rather than within the connected appliance itself. The exact cause could not be conclusively determined, although deterioration of the contact connection is considered a possible contributing factor.

The outlet exhibiting heat damage was not the outlet used by the space heater during the final documented period of service, indicating that the damage likely occurred earlier in the unit's operational life.

The damaged receptacle exhibits transferred lettering from a previously connected attachment plug. The softened plastic surrounding the outlet preserved portions of the plug's molded markings, indicating that temperatures became sufficiently high to deform the outlet face.

The exact appliance responsible for the heating event is unknown.

The enclosure exhibits accumulated wear consistent with long-term use. Despite evidence of significant heating around one outlet, no corresponding deformation or damage is visible on the underside of the enclosure.
