The January 1992 GO Mall Shopper's Guide insert section of CompuServe Magazine included an advertisement for the Honeywell Power LockOut.

The device was marketed as a keyed power-control accessory intended to prevent unauthorized operation of power tools, computers, appliances, and other electrical equipment. The advertisement stated that the device incorporated a built-in surge protector and plugged into a standard wall outlet.
